Someone help me understand. I don’t get it. I understand that many Americans, myself included still remember the pain and horror of September 11th. However I don’t see how defaming the Quran fosters any type of healthy healing. There are people who are Muslim who lost love ones that day. There are people who are Muslim who are just as outraged as Christians are. The acts that happened on September 11th were of hate and anger. How does burning the Quran combat this. The Bible instructs us to love our enemies. Matthew 5:43-48 (New International Version)
Love for Enemies
43″You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you: Love your enemies[b] and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
How is burning the Quran embracing this passage. We as Christians show God’s love by exhibiting love, even when it is difficult. Help me understand how his actions are Biblically sound. If they are not is he leading his congregation to sin? Better yet how do you atone for a demonstration that might incite others to murder our soldiers who are there to instill peace? How will he atone if his demonstration causes the senseless murder of our sons and daughters in the Armed forces. Will he then be seen as the enemy? If so perhaps he should read this passage and understand what God might have in store for him.
Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

Matthew 18:6 But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
I pray that he takes heed to the Word and the Word of General Petreas and cancels this demonstration. I just don’t see how his actions line up with honoring those who lost their lives or loved ones and what we should learn from the Prince of Peace.
Love Breeds Love, Hatred breeds hatred.
Be Blessed and continue to pray.
