I think it takes a wise person to humble themselves enough to admit their wrong doing and to ask for forgiveness especially when you are in a place of "perceived" authority (God is our true authority). I don't have all the background information and don't need to know it. However I often listen to Mark Driscoll as well as post his teachings here. I think the Marriage series is one the best teaching tools I have heard. He talks about his own anger a lot and if you watch him you can see it there at times. However it does me well to see him taking active steps and accountability to correct himself and to put counsel in place to help guide him. God bless him, his family and Mars Hill!
