God’s Not Dead (Movie Trailer)

Synopsis

How far would you go…to defend your belief in God?

Present-day college freshman and devout Christian, Josh Wheaton (Shane Harper), finds his faith challenged on his first day of Philosophy class by the dogmatic and argumentative Professor Radisson (Kevin Sorbo). Radisson begins class by informing students that they will need to disavow, in writing, the existence of God on that first day, or face a failing grade. As other students in the class begin scribbling the words “God Is Dead” on pieces of paper as instructed, Josh find himself at a crossroads, having to choose between his faith and his future. Josh offers a nervous refusal, provoking an irate reaction from his smug professor. Radisson assigns him a daunting task: if Josh will not admit that “God Is Dead,” he must prove God’s existence by presenting well-researched, intellectual arguments and evidence over the course of the semester, and engage Radisson in a head-to-head debate in front of the class. If Josh fails to convince his classmates of God’s existence, he will fail the course and hinder his lofty academic goals. With almost no one in his corner, Josh wonders if he can really fight for what he believes. Can he actually prove the existence of God? Wouldn’t it just be easier just to write “God Is Dead” and put the whole incident behind him? GOD’S NOT DEAD weaves together multiple stories of faith, doubt and disbelief, culminating in a dramatic call to action. The film will educate, entertain, and inspire moviegoers to explore what they really believe about God, igniting important conversations and life-changing decisions.

GOD’S NOT DEAD features a talented cast of actors including Kevin Sorbo (SOUL SURFER, HERCULES, ANDROMEDA), Shane Harper (GOOD LUCK CHARLIE, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2), David A.R. White (BROTHER WHITE, REVELATION ROAD and JERUSALEM COUNTDOWN), and Dean Cain (LOIS & CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN), with special appearances by Christian super-band Newsboys and “Duck Dynasty’s” Willie and Korie Robertson.

Kirk Franklin – A God Like You (Lyrics)
Everybody wanna be like You they
Want power and praise like You but
See there is no god like our God
There’s no one like You
Who gave their life like You and
Who paid our price like You see
There’s only one God that’s our God
There’s no one like You.
Who can touch like You
Or heal us like You do
We stubble and we stray
Til’ You always get us thru
Who makes all things new
And comes to our rescue
Death, hell, and the grave
They could not conquer
You became just like me
To unlock and set free
This prisoner that was deeply wounded and redeemed
The me I could not see
Everybody wanna be like You they
Want power and praise like but
See there is no god like our God
There’s no one like You
Who gave their life You and
Who paid our price like You see
There’s only one god that’s our God
There’s no one like You.
Some may worship things
But what joy do they bring
They try and hide the stains
But can they set us free
See where would we be
Without Calvary
A King upon a tree
So the whole world can see
You became just like me
To unlock and set free
This prisoner that was deeply wounded and redeemed
The me I could not see
Everybody wanna be like You they
Want power and praise like but
See there is no god like our God
There’s no one like You
Who gave their life You and
Who paid our price like You see
There’s only one god that’s our God
There’s no one like You.
Healer, Father, Savior
Counselor, Friend, Provider
Was is and forever
That’s why I just wanna be where You are
I’ll travel life with You no matter how far
(2x)
Became just like me
To unlock and set free
This prisoner that was deeply wounded and redeemed
The me I could not see
Everybody wanna be like You they
Want power and praise like You but
See there is no god like our God
There’s no one like You
Who gave their life You and
Who paid our price like You see
There’s only one god that’s our God
There’s no one like You.
There’s no one like You,
There’s no one like you,
There’s no god like our God
There’s no one like You.

Nobel Peace Prize Winner Leymah Gbowee (Video and DVD)

[ad#ad]
Leymah Gbowee (pronounced LAY–mah, BEAU-wee) talks about the dream that started the Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace.
Pray the Devil Back to Hell is the gripping account of a group of brave and visionary women who demanded peace for Liberia, a nation torn to shreds by a decades-old civil war. The women’s historic yet unsung achievement finds voice in a narrative that intersperses contemporary interviews, archival images, and scenes of present-day Liberia together to recount the experiences and memories of the women who were instrumental in bringing lasting peace to their country

Christian Movies: Father of Lies Starring Clifton Powell as Bishop Calvin Jacobs, Vivica A. Fox and DMX (DVD and Trailer)

I am currently watching this film as I post. It stars Clyde Jones, Clifton Davis, Vivica A Fox and DMX Father of Lies is a classic story of good vs. evil. Bishop Calvin Jacobs,Clifton Powell, is a well meaning pastor whose drive and passion raised the profile of his church through serving his the needs of the congregation. Fortune takes a sudden turn one day during a board meeting, in which it is discovered that the church’s funds have been mysteriously depleted. With the church’s existence in danger, he is forced to resort to desperate means to save his church community. He accepts a high stakes loan from an international tycoon, who is involved in more than just normal business practices. Setting off a chain of events that involve international political scandal and even the death of one of the church’s leaders, the Bishop calls on the higher power to rise above these struggles.
Has anyone ever heard of or seen this movie? What did you think? So far so good! If you haven’t seen it, I added the DVD at the bottom of the post and it is very reasonably priced. Perhaps you should get it and watch it. Then come back and let me know what you think:)

Christian Movies: The Walk Starring Eva Pigford and Regina Belle (DVD and Trailer)

In our area they have a new TV Station that caters to the African American audience called Bounce. They have played some of the standard classics like “Do The Right Thing” and old Richard Pryor films. However they have also played a few Christian movies that I had not heard of and thought I would share with you. The first that I saw starred Eva Pigford as a young woman in her 20’s that lost her way after experiencing some great personal tragedies. She winds up in trouble and meets a youth pastor played by “Trek” from MTV’s Real World. Songstress Regina Belle plays her mother. Directed by President Thomas Forbes. Thought I would post it here in case any of you wanted to get it and watch. If you have teens who you are concerned about, I think the message is good and the film would hold their attention.
Be Blessed,
