Children's Fellowship – Jesus Falls and Simon of Cyrene Helps

On the journey to where Jesus would be crucified he fell. He had to travel a long way and the cross he had to bear was very heavy. Once this happened the Roman soldiers made a man named Simon carry the cross for him. Simon was travelling and was originally from Cyrene (currently known as Shahhat, Libya which means he was of African descent.) Although Simon of Cyrene had nothing to do with the crucifixion the law at that time was if a Roman soldier stopped you and requested you to carry anything you had to carry it for one mile.
How would you feel if you had to carry someone else’s heavy bag for a whole mile?
Be Blessed,

Mark 15:21
21 A certain man from Cyrene, Simon, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and they forced him to carry the cross.

  1. Sometimes many of us forget the scripture
    Hebrews 13
    1Let brotherly love continue.
2Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Sometimes things get lost in the translation “To entertain” might not mean to host or throw a party it might simply mean to stop what you are doing and make time for strangers.
So many times in a rush to get to our destination we hurry past our blessing! It can be hard because we become so self absorbed in what our needs are, what our family needs, our spouse, our friends but we forget the others that we are supposed to serve as well.
Be Blessed and thanks for stopping by! Love comments!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, my first carnal reaction would be feeling “put out” that I had to carry someone else’s burden, on top of my own. But, then, if I stopeed and renewed my mind to the Word of GOD, I would ask God to help me see this assignment from HIS prospective and I would obey and do it.
