Question of the Day: Is That You God?

Many folks walk around daily stating “Thus saith the Lord” or “Sister, God TOLD me to Tell you ….”  I’m sure many of you have either said or experienced something similar.  OR what about “I was cleaning the house this morning and God told me…” “I was going to go to…and God said”, and finally “I am just going to pray and wait for the Lord to tell me whats next”

Well my question for you today is two part.

1) For those who have heard Him speak how did you know it was Him and what did His voice sound like?  Was it in a dream,  over the radio, a course of events that lead you to a message? Or like a person sitting next to you involved in deep conversation?

2) For those of you who have been told what the voice of God has told another to tell you. How did you know to trust what you were being told? Did you wait for confirmation or just quit your job, sell all of your possessions and move to Alaska?

Supporting scripture is always appreciated and if you can’t think of it or find it give me some ideas and I will help locate it.  Thanks in advance for sharing. I would love to have an involved conversation about this topic but I can’t without your input.

Have a great Sunday and for those in the states be careful this weekend!

    Hi Ria,
Thank you so much for our comments. They are very insightful. I am glad to read that you have made yourself available to listen. I pray that you continue in this way and that when God is ready for you to make that change it will not be a decision for you to make but will present itself as an opportunity that you can not refuse. Step out on faith!

    1 Thessalonian 5:16-21
16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

19Do not put out the Spirit’s fire; 20do not treat prophecies with contempt. 21Test everything. Hold on to the good. 22Avoid every kind of evil.

  3. intersting topic, i try not to say this unless i think it is absolutely positively true….i never heard an audible voice but he has used perfect strangers to ask me the same question, it literally blew my mind. I prayed for an aNswer and within 24-48 hours, ppl (let me reiterate, perfect strangers, 1 EVEN in a different city than i live) started asking me if I was exactly what I prayed abt…sounds confusing but I felt I was being told to change professions, well initially i did not really belive that it was God (probly bcause i like my job/salary, etc), so i asked him to let me know FOR SURE….and he did!! I still have not switched professions, the transition will take time, but everytime I start doubting if I am really supposed to switch, someone will ask the question again….it’s really wild.
