Rev. Jesse Jackson – Building Without Tools or Permission (Video)

Nehemiah 4:1-6
sermon notes:
you don’t have to be guilty to be crucified
Dr. King was kept out of many black pulpits
Dr. King thought about quitting on his last birthday
Dr. King is the architect of the new america
Dr. King freed the whole south not just blacks
We are now fighting wolves in sheep’s clothing
In South Carolina 15% of the prisons inmate work force is leased to private companies
The question becomes how do you build when your back is against the wall
If you know someone that can’t pay their bills you need to occupy
If my back is against the wall I need to act and occupy
Adjusting to slavery is worse than slavery itself
There is not a single black owned building in downtown america
If my back is against the wall I must not surrender
If my back is against the wall I must not imitate the oppressor
There is nothing more dangerous than the overseer of his own group
Jesus was born under a roman occupation
King Herod was an Israelite
Don’t adjust be maladjusted
Leaders of substance pull us out of our comfort zone
I must find in my soul the will to resist
Jesus choose to resist
Jesus occupied the temple to protect the integrity of the house of worship
No freedom fighter can avoid being militant
Dr. King occupied the streets of Montgomery
The Jesus we serve is anointed to preach the gospel to the poor
Once you know God everything else is little
I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken
