Albertina Walker (August 29, 1929 – October 8, 2010) Walks Home To Be With The Lord- Dies at 81

[ad] It is with a sad heart that we report that Albertina Walker died today at the age of 81. Affectionately known as the “Queen of Gospel” Walker passed away early Friday morning of respiratory failure at RML Specialty Hospital in Chicago.
Sis. Walker a native and resident of Chicago was very well known as one of the voices of The Caravans Delores Washington, Albertina Walker, Bessie Griffin, Cassietta George, Dorothy Norwood, Inez Andrews, Shirley Caesar, Rev. James Cleveland were some of its original members. Walker attended West Point Baptist Church.
