Triumph Church Celebrates 105 Years with Worship and Reflection

Triumph Church recently celebrated its 105th anniversary with a special Sunday worship service, captured in a recent YouTube video. The service was filled with music, prayer, and a powerful sermon, reflecting on the church’s rich history and its enduring faith.

A Look Back

The service began with a warm welcome and a scripture reading from Psalm 95, which is a call to worship and praise God. It urges believers to sing joyfully to the Lord, acknowledging Him as the rock of salvation. The service included a heartfelt prayer expressing gratitude for God’s blessings and seeking guidance.

Musical Worship

Shaina Wilson Williams led the congregation in several uplifting songs, including “My God is Big,” “Glory to Glory,” and “Blessed in the City,” celebrating God’s power and faithfulness. The music continued with expressions of devotion in songs like “My Hallelujah Belongs to You” and “I Want to Be Where You Are.”

Triumph Church: A Storied Past

A video presentation showcased the history of Triumph Church, founded in 1920 by Reverend Claude Cummings. The video highlighted the church’s growth and transformation under various pastors, especially Pastor Solomon Kinlock Jr., who led the church from a small congregation to a multi-campus institution.

“God’s Got You Covered”: A Sermon on Grace

Pastor Jeffrey Johnson Senior delivered a sermon titled “God’s Got You Covered,” drawing from Genesis 3:21. This passage describes how, after Adam and Eve’s disobedience, God made garments of skin for them, clothing them and showing his provision even after their sin. The sermon emphasized God’s mercy and grace, with the coverings symbolizing Jesus’ sacrifice to cover humanity’s sins. Genesis 3:21 highlights God’s provision for Adam and Eve after the Fall, symbolizing the necessity of atonement.
